Our first market update of 2019 and the market has started positively in the local area. The political uncertainty surrounding the UK doesn’t seem to be impacting on local homemovers and in January we registered over 200 new applicants looking to purchase property locally. Against January 2018, we saw over an 80% increase in new properties being placed on the market for sale and sales agreed saw a 150% increase against last year. We also saw a 45% increase in properties completing during the first month of the year against last January The online portals seem to corroborate the positive start to 2019 with reporting over 23.5 million visits in January, a four fold increase against February 2018, the month of the company’s admission to AIM. Rightmove have reported a 5% increase in home-hunters searching for their next home. Our lettings department saw their busiest ever January for new lets agreed, with an 83% increase of lets agreed against last year. If you are considering selling or letting a property, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can discuss the current market conditions, impact of Brexit and our thoughts on market trends for the coming year.
